I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Tease Me With Tiramisu
Darby Street is the home of Monella, a treasure trove of delicious cool treats.
Luminous pink lights, quirky sayings, interesting artworks and great background music complement the vibrant colours of gelato and sorbets in the showcase. The space is small and at busy times a good-natured crowd spills onto the footpath in anticipation.
The gelato and sorbets are all additive free and made from scratch. Some flavours, such as A.K.A Nutella, are plant-based, gluten-free and vegan friendly. Just ask the friendly servers for advice (you can even taste test to help you decide).
The staff love experimenting with new flavour combinations. The choices change regularly and popular flavours are brought back if enough people ask for them. You can order single, double or triple scoops in cones or cups and even add a saucy shot for $2. The flavours have fun names such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Wagon Wheelin', Crazy In The Coconut and Ol' Dawg New Twix.
A new addition to the menu is gelato 'cakes' in flavours like Pavlova, Snickers Licker and the Heartbreaker and they have a great value weekday happy hour where you can get up to three flavours in a 1 litre takeaway box for $16 between 4 and 5 pm.
