For a mellow Saturday morning, head to in Inglewood.

You can sip a fresh espresso coffee and listen to European folk music by band Musica del Mondo as you browse the small-scale market's craft and fresh food offerings.

The market is held at the back of Mondo di Carne butchery on Beaufort St between the first Saturday of September and the first Saturday of December.

Those who over-indulged on the Friday drinks might be particularly tempted by the fresh roast meat sandwiches ($7.50) at the front of the store, reviewed in more detail here .



The fresh herbs and vegetables were high in quality and low in price, beating the local 'Down, down' Coles, well, hands down.



The butchery itself is not cheap but offers high quality meats and gourmet goodies – including unusual meats such as goat, oddities including fresh ostrich eggs, jamon, cheeses, spices, and a wide selection of pre-cooked meals.



For those with children, a visit to the Mondo markets could finish with a play session at nearby Faull Park opposite the corner of John St and Central Avenue.
