Parliaments all over call their restaurants Strangers. It's because, in parliamentary terms, a "stranger" is someone who is not a Member of Parliament. Even royals and celebrities are considered strangers. Strangers visiting the Strangers Restaurant in Parliament House have included the likes of Queen Elizabeth II, who opened the NSW Parliament in 1954, Audrey Hepburn, and Princess Diana.

As you might expect, the Strangers Restaurant at Parliament House is swanky, with food plating to impress. The passionate culinary team have designed a beautiful menu that showcases the wonderful delicacies and unique regions of New South Wales and food is sourced through farmers who practice sustainable farming.



Plus, you get to drink in the rich history and tradition while you dine. You even eat off crested plates. while looking out over the beautiful Domain.

Strangers’ Restaurant Monday Lunch Special provides a rare opportunity for the public to experience fine dining at New South Wales Parliament House. The meal includes your selection of one main and one dessert from the a la carte menu, followed by tea and coffee for $60.

Available every Monday, except on public holidays.



Bookings are essential; seating is limited. Bookings can be made online via the Parliamentary Catering website.

Plus, time it right, and you can also do the free tour. Tours of Parliament are every Monday and Friday at 1:30 pm, and it is a chance to step back in time into one of Sydney's oldest buildings. While walk-ins are always welcome, they recommend that you book in advance to obtain your preferred date and time slot.
