I received a great tip from one of my work colleagues to book any accommodation directly with the hotel. So when we wanted to book the
Monaco Caloundra for the long weekend, we found a discount code on their website.

View from our balcony
The resort was a reasonably short drive from Brisbane, and we parked the car to see what we had booked. I'm so glad we got an ocean view apartment, because the view was just stunning. We could see the Glasshouse Mountains from our balcony.

Can you name the mountains?
The Monaco Resort is in the heart of Caloundra. It located close to the main shopping area and within walking distance of the family friendly beaches. Walking along the newly renovated board walk is a popular activity at dawn and dusk.

Bedroom
Monaco has a range of one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as penthouses. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. The bed and furniture were comfy. There was a spacious kitchen with modern appliances, and a generous dining room table. The bathroom included a spa bath with room for two, so pack some Epsom salts. All the rooms are air-conditioned.

Kitchen
If you want to spend the night in, then there is a DVD player, stereo and Austar TV (with the sports stations). We tried the free wireless internet and we had plenty of bandwidth. Overall the room was modern, clean and spacious.

Lounge room
We didn't have time to use the onsite facilities, but Monaco has an outdoor heated pool, spa, sauna hut, and modern gym. If you have children, there is a wading pool and games rooms. There are outdoor barbeques which were tempting to use.
Monaco is a great place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy your trip to the beautiful beaches around Caloundra. We would happily return next time we head up to the Sunshine Coast.
Just remember to book directly with
Monaco Caloundra.
Highly recommended.
