A charming cafe in the eastern suburbs with a fresh taste & friendly staff; you just can't pass up Moka Pot.
A family favourite of 3 generations, the fondness for Moka Pot Cafe, with its ever-cheery staff, great service and fab coffee, has without a doubt been passed down to myself also. You'll find the well-known lunchtime eatery in Greythorn's shopping strip in the pleasant suburb of Balwyn North. It has been run by father and son team Nick & Dennis Ahimastos since 2009 and has continued to grow in strength and reputation.
The cafe boasts a plain, yet calming interior in which patrons (most of whom are regulars) can dine & converse in refreshingly unperturbed surroundings. And dine they do! From breakfast to lunch every day of the week on tasty homemade focaccias, sandwiches, Swedish meatballs, croissants, salads, pastries, cupcakes and slices galore, as well as eggs made almost every way possible. Even the young'ns have some options with the '4 Little Rascals' menu for customers aged 13 & under. There's also outdoor seating, complete with heated dining areas for the colder months and seats are well protected from the elements. Ashtrays are available on request.
But that's not all. Moka also offers their own coffee blend sold in-store and all kinds & sizes of custom-made cakes . They also provide function catering for home and business events and they'll work with regard to individual budgets too.
Moka Pot Cafe is open 6am - 5pm Monday - Friday and 7am - 4pm Saturdays & Sundays. With breakfast served until 2:30pm everyday. Gluten free options are also available.
In short; you can pass Moka Pot - but I can't imagine you'd want to.
