A special one night only event

Award-winning Naarm-based musician, songwriter, storyteller and advocate Mo'Ju (they/them) is performing a special one night only event with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on Friday 17 March 2023 at Hamer Hall. Tickets are now on sale.

Mo'Ju's rich, distinctive vocals and Soul-RnB-Funk sound will be accompanied by the full power of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Nicholas Buc.

Mo'Ju will perform electrifying music and brand-new tracks from their upcoming fourth studio LP, including the first single Change Has To Come. A third-culture kid of Wiradjuri and Filipino blood, Mo'Ju's music is raw and deeply personal; their lyrics speak to the highs and lows of the soul in a way that has cemented their place as one of Australia's most exciting contemporary artists.

Their latest single Change Has To Come is a plea to step away from the screens and the keyboards, to look up and out, and take your shouting to the streets to fight for political change. Most of all it is an appeal for communities to unite and come together in the physical world.

2022 has been a creatively fruitful year for Mo'Ju; on top of completing their fourth studio LP, they supported hip hop icons Hilltop Hoods in a national sold-out stadium tour, picked up a Music Victoria Award nomination for 'Best, Soul, Funk, RnB, or Gospel' release, a NIMA Award nomination for 'Song of The Year', and received the coveted crown of Rainbow Champion in conjunction with WorldPride for their outstanding contribution to the Australian LGBTQIA+ community and culture.

Mo'Ju will perform at the Opera House for Sydney World Pride in February 2023, before heading to Melbourne to reunite with the MSO for the first time since they joined the line-up of the 2021 Performance of a Life Concert, which celebrated the industry's return to live performances at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
