It is a known fact that when travelling through NSW the RSL clubs are the place to dine. They always serve good food at reasonable prices.

The Moama RSL, just over the Victorian border from Echuca is no exception.

As you turn into the Moama RSL, you are left in no doubt it is an RSL venue. It is guarded by two large tanks and two howitzers.

Tanks
The guardians.

As you pass them without being challenged the large car park awaits you. The Moama venue is quite large as it is situated in a rural setting with no close residential properties.

Visitors are always welcome and are afforded temporary membership status for seven days by producing their drivers' licence or suitable identification.

Inside the reception is this diorama of John Simpson bringing the wounded down from Monash Valley.

Once inside you are surprised at the size of the Suvla Bay bistro area. Despite its size, it is not noisy, even when almost full.

There are two outdoor undercover eating areas as well, named Fromelles and Dardanelles.

Children are well catered for with a play area and a unique children's menu.

There is a seniors menu and by presenting your key tag from most of the area's accommodation places a 10% discount is applied to your meals.

Prawns

There is also the Corvettes Coffee Shop which offers cakes, slices, scones and kids treats.

Their food is well presented, very adequate and freshly cooked. An army (pun intended) of chefs/cooks ensure your meal arrives soon after ordering.

For the gambling addicts there are many poker machines, a TAB, Keno and Bingo.

If you are in the area it is well worthwhile seeking out this RSL for a good feed.
