I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Self-contained accommodation with idyllic country views,
Mistral Hill Cottage is a private piece of paradise. Mobile service is patchy at best and there is no internet, so a stay at Mistral Hill Cottage is the perfect opportunity to switch off and reconnect with your family and friends.

The air-conditioned
accomodation consists of two Queen bedrooms, a large kitchen/dining and a comfortable lounge. The bathroom is generous with a separate toilet and a laundry. There is a gas barbecue on the deck which is a great spot for birdwatching and star gazing.

The
rates are very reasonable and vary depending on how many rooms are used and the length of time you stay. We chose to take advantage of the two-night package for $400 and thoroughly enjoyed the tasty lamb shank dinner paired with a local Tempranillo. The generous provisions were delivered on the first afternoon by the friendly and hospitable Kathy & Brett.

Kathy, your hostess with the mostest, produces a range of pickles and chutneys that can be sampled if you purchase one of their delicious food hampers. The
products are also available online and in some Tenterfield shops.

There are attractions of the New England region, such as
Bald Rock National Park and
Boonoo Boonoo Falls, but you may just prefer to chill on the deck with a glass of wine and a good book. We particularly enjoyed stargazing in the evenings and watching distant thunderstorms one afternoon. The antics of the cows were entertaining and we saw a family of kangaroos in the close paddock on the second morning.
