is a great little cafe tucked away just off the corner of Swanston and Bourke St.

With an eclectic design - and true perhaps at first glance, a cheeky homage to Melbourne hipsters - this establishment has grown fast in a city renown for what is offers within. What's more, when looking deeper into the story of this cafe's origins, a sweet little tale is actually found.

Not to take away from those cafes with a cool name thought up on the spot - and often built into something great with little backstory to that name - but has indeed a solid story behind its title.

Started up by Peter and James, two guys who went through high school together in Melbourne's South-East, the name pays tribute to a teacher who was regularly appointed with thick glasses and a bushy moustache. Yet, good as the origin story may be, the cafe itself also has much to recommend itself to a visit.

Alongside quality coffee and other drinks, MC offers a seasonal menu that ensures this is the sort of cafe you'll never get tired of either making a daily visit to, or simply putting it into your regular lunch rotation should you work in the city.

Speaking of, perhaps in an ode to the old 'lunch order' culture of schools across Australia, also offers customers the ability to ring and place an order for their lunch everyday (before 11.30am). This is one of those nifty little extras that makes this cafe stand out all that much more amongst Melbourne City's coffee scene.

cafe has a cool theme, convenient location, and unique offerings across the board. Well worth a visit if close by.
