Miss Marmalade is a cafe located in quiet Union St, Brunswick, however it is anything but quiet. Located in an old terrace house Miss Marmalade is a great cafe that is child and dog friendly, and offers beautiful food and great coffee by 5 senses. All this is served up in a cozy and unique atmosphere. It really does cater to everyone with large and small tables, a communal dining table and some benches in the front windows for solo dinning. There is a large room out the back complete with toys and books to keep kids occupied and away from the hustle and bustle of the front part of the cafe. The front pavement is another alternative if the Melbourne weather allows, although there are blankets avaliable to rug up. The outdoor tables are surrounded by cute garden filled walls complete with water bowls if you bring a four legged friend with you.

If you find it is too busy inside or out, which it can be on the weekends and you may have to wait for a table feel free to grab a takeaway and head across the road to Temple Park instead. Temple Park is complete with playgrounds and toilets and is the perfect alternative to the busy cafe, here you can relax and enjoy your coffee. Although there are quite a few cafes around Brunswick, Miss Marmalade offers a special atmosphere and their friendly and casual staff, not always found at Melbourne cafes, make this place even more enjoyable.

Just off Sydney Road but relatively hidden down Union St, Miss Marmalade offers fantastic coffee and a good selection of seasonal breakfast and lunch meals. The meals range from approx $12-18 and they also offer a kid friendly (cheap) breakfast. Thankfully they serve breakfast all day so if you start the day late you can still enjoy breakfast dishes and even a breakfast cocktail, think Bloody Mary, Margaret or Maria, think delicious. As a licensed cafe they offer a select lunch menu as well as beer and wine.

My favourite meals here include the corn cakes, gingerbread hotcakes and banana bread; however the menu does change seasonally. If you just feel like a sweet snack, no problems either, on display is a great range of cakes and slices such as: Earl Grey Chocolate Cake, Peanut Butter Pretzel Chocolate Tart (tastes as good as it sounds), Double Choc Lamingtons and Baby Gingerbread Men, all beautifully presented.

Miss Marmalade also sells a selection of wares such as reusable coffee cups, coffee table books, jugs and of course Marmalade.

Miss Marmalade offers catering and gift certificates and if you really enjoy Miss Marmalade you can get a loyalty card where every 7th coffee is on the house, so it's good for the budget too.
