Miss D's Cafe

Tucked away in the lovely, leafy suburb of Tarragindi lies Miss D's, a gift shop cum café. I recently attended high tea at Miss D's with my youngest daughter; a treat for her upcoming fourth birthday. Okay, it was really a treat for me but she enjoyed the experience almost as much as I did.
The hosts, Diana and her husband
Peter Cupples , were fantastic; making a fuss of my daughter, ensuring everything included in our high tea was to her liking, and that she had no allergies. I ordered a latte and my little lady had a strawberry milkshake while we waited for our high tea. After a short time, we were presented with a three-tier stand of sweet and savoury treats which tasted as delicious as they looked.
We started with the savouries: mini mushroom frittatas, quiches, ham and cheese croissants, and chicken salad finger sandwiches. Next we scoffed scones with jam and cream, followed by delectable desserts fit for a princess: melting moments, caramel chocolate tarts, and pretty pink cupcakes.
What we couldn't finish, Diana packaged into a takeaway container for my daughter to take home and share with her older sisters. Before we left, we browsed the small shop filled to the brim with gorgeous gifts - my daughter fell in love with the large display of teddy bears. Besides teddies, you will find jewellery, home wares, children's toys, and more. I'm very pleased with my purchase, a wonderful, wooden noughts and crosses board game.
Sadly, since our visit Diana has announced that Miss D's has been sold, so that they can concentrate on their new venture
Esca Bar and Bistro at Kangaroo Point. Stop by before December 15 to wish them well, or after the 15th to welcome the new owners, who have promised to leave Miss D's as is – delightful.
