In keeping with the National Year of Reading, the beautiful Dome Gallery at the State Library of Victoria is holding a special exhibition, Mirror of the World.

The exhibitions showcases some of the rarest books in the world and gives us an insight into the history of a book's production, including the design and illustration process.

For those of you who have a special place in your heart for books, the exhibition has a display of some beautiful books dating from the Middle Ages to current day.

What better way to spend a dreary Melbourne afternoon in Dome Gallery taking in the wonderful evolution of the printed word.
