If you are looking to have a trip to Brisbane soon and want to stay in an affordable, apartment-style art deco accommodation, in trendy Fortitude Valley, then I highly recommend .

Located in the heart of fortitude valley on Robertson Street, it is surrounded by an abundance of galleries, funky bars, cafes, restaurants and shops including close by China Town and Brunswick Street Mall.  It is just a few minutes walk to Fortitude Valley Train Station with direct links every few minutes to Central, Southbank and Roma Street Stations. The popular Eagle Street area is just 10-15 minutes walk away and you can get the free city hopper boat from there which goes to Southbank and Eagle Farm and beyond.

They have plenty of free parking in a secure car park in the basement so you get to avoid those hefty parking costs that some hotels still have, despite you staying with them.

The self-contained apartments are huge and come with all mod cons and pretty much everything you could need for a few days away from home. It is spacious, light and comfortable - in fact when me and my boyfriend arrived we were tempted to just stay in as it was like a home away from home.

They offer one and two bedroom apartments - ours was one bed and offered a large bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen dining area and a balcony (although our balcony didn't really look onto much) and it comes with Foxtel and a large TV and DVD player.

If you are looking to save a bit of cash and not eat out then they provide everything possible for cooking including glasses, cups, pots and pans and utensils and don't worry as they have a dishwasher so there is no washing up. If you are staying longer then they have a washing machine too and provide basic toiletries and cleaning products - for additional items there is a small fee but it's mostly just $1.

The decor of the building is really cool and vibrant - when we drove up I knew I had found a great place that would become a favourite - externally it is bright and colourful, but internally it is contemporary yet understated. A perfect balance of modern, city chic and comfortable.

For two people it was $310 for two nights - not bad at all at $77.50 each per night - I have stayed in some not so great places in Brisbane which were much more than this, plus other places parking was an additional $30 per night. So it is certainly worth it, plus it's much more private and cosy than a standard hotel room. You of course don't have things like a pool or gym like hotels do, however there is so much to do in Brisbane, you really don't need them.

I really loved the communal stairs area - a wonderful industrial site meets garden centre feel - sounds odd but it really works.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and there is a small cafe just outside reception should you need a coffee fix before venturing out into the big city.

I really loved it here and I am so pleased I found it - I shall definitely be staying again next time I go to Brisbane. See their website for online bookings and offers and discounts.
