After success of Minuscule in 2012, local artists in Western Victoria are invited to create a two-dimensional work of art on a 7inch by 5inch canvas which will be displayed for six weeks, from April 6th – May 26th in Red Rock Arts Gallery, Cororooke.
And the Minuscule organisers have upped the ante this year. After displaying 185 individual artworks last year, 500 canvases (cut to size) are available for this year's collective exhibition.
Canvases and entry forms are available for collection from the Red Rock Arts Gallery between 11am-4pm on weekends, or from Timeless Interiors, Murray Street, Colac during business hours.
Prizes are offered in primary ($5 entry), secondary ($8 entry) and adult ($10 entry) categories. Once you've created your masterpiece, the only question you'll need to consider is whether you'll give it away or let it take pride of place on your lounge room wall.
In truth the only thing minuscule about this exhibition is the size of the art works. It's a huge opportunity for 500 people to flaunt their artistic skills, and put them out in the public domain. Many more patrons are expected to flood the gallery in order to enjoy the show.
Entries must be received by Sunday, 24th March and are limited to one per artist. Red Rock Arts Gallery and Theatre reserves the right to refuse any material deemed inappropriate. Direct enquires to Andrew Beale on 0488531637
