Help save our native wildlife here in SA
Bev has been running Minton Farm Native Animal Rescue at Cherry Gardens now since 1992. I am lucky to have been invited up there to take photos of the wildlife she is caring for.

Our last photo shoot was 13th Feb. In talking with Bev, she has recused about 12,000 so far. This is a non-profit, non-government organisation run entirely on community goodwill and volunteers who do an extraordinary job. It is a hospital for injured animals to recover and get put back into their habitat, so to be invited into the areas is such a privilege.

One of Bev's dreams was to create a flight area for birds of prey to exercise their wings to build up the muscle strength ready for their release. Big dream but I never had one doubt that this lady would get it done. With lots of fundraising and every cent goes to the Animal Rescue needs, she has nearly watched her dream be built before her eyes.

The idea of this round is that the birds of prey keep flying in a circle because there is no end. They build up the muscle in their wings. There are perches of different widths around the circle for each kind of bird and the size of their talons. SaeKey from the Barossa valley designed and built the structure.

Inside the Freedom Flight enclosure

There is a smaller enclosure inside the Freedom Flight. This fantastic feature at Minton Farm will be used not only by Bev but it will be available to our great friends at Cleland Wildlife Park. The Adelaide Zoo is able to use it for their birds and also the general public and Vets for all Birds of Prey to get into the best condition for their release and it is FREE for them to use. This is the only one of this kind in South Australia. Bev has had her dream come true.
