Life is full of irony. Sometimes you go searching for a certain takeaway shop because you are craving a specific type of food, yet you can't find what you are looking for. However, when you are not looking for what you want, you find it. This is how I came about this small takeaway/restaurant.

Mint is located in central Dee Why on Pittwater Rd, just a block away from the main bus stop. Specialising in authentic Lebanese cuisine, starters include Lebanese sausages priced at $4 for 4 cocktail size sausages, which are very delicious mind you.

They have a variety of mains including Falafel wraps and a Zaatar Wrap (filled with tomato, oregano, sumac, olives and labneh) priced at $9, which happens to be my favourite. However, If you prefer your Zaatar the traditional way, made with the simple ingredients of oregano and olive oil, you can request it and their friendly staff will happily make it for you for just $3.

Another popular dish is the Mixed Plate. What makes this dish so popular is the variety of food that is included. Be warned: do not get this unless you have an appetite because it's quite filling. The meal contains a starter of Tabouli, Lebanese bread with mouth-watering garlic dipping sauce, 1 Chicken, 1 Kofta and 1 Lamb skerer complemented with a side of hommus. All this is for an amazing $16.95.

I can honestly conclude that this is the best Lebanese takeaway restaurant on the Northern Beaches. You simply have to try it!
