If you are only visiting for the weekend, don't forget that there are plenty of other local attractions to keep the family entertained, including the Emmaville Mining Museum which is only a thirty minute drive from Glen Innes. There you can view the massive collections of gems and mineral specimens as well as mining artefacts from yesteryear ($2 entry).
