Italian domination on Lygon St is pleasantly interrupted by this lovely Lebanese restaurant.

Min Zaman will draw your attention with the Arabic tunes coming out into the night and the outdoor tables seating guests smoking Shisha - the traditional method of smoking caffeine. It's a cute scene as you enter the place. They say if 'locals' are there at a restaurant it's a good sign of the authenticity of foods, although I must say, I was a bit concerned seeing a couple of 8-10 year olds having the pipes in their hands. I guess there might be non-alcoholic flavours for underaged? I didn't smoke but I saw the menu was extensive for Shisha with fruity flavours.

The sharing platter is the way to go for Mediterranean food. We made no mistake. we ordered the Lebanese lentil rice, the roasted eggplants, dips, spinach pies - and I must admit, these were some of the best I have ever had in any place in Melbourne. Really.

We were very impressed and happy with the food and also with the prompt service and the generous sizing of the dishes. Only issue were the two young waitresses - they looked distracted and when we asked for clarifications on the menu they said 'sorry I have no idea'. I was quite surprised by this comment. But forgave them when the food arrived and made us happy.
