There are many bushland reserves around Brisbane. One little reserve that is worth visiting is Milne Hill Reserve which is part of the
Chermside Hills Reserves. This lovely little hill reserve rewards you with views, including great sunset views, from the top of the hill.

Access to the reserve by car is from Hamilton Road though I like to walk from the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre through Raven Street Reserve, cross the green bridge over Hamilton Road to arrive at Milne Hill Reserve.

Raven Street Reserve
There is a fair amount of wildlife in the reserves, including wallabies and the occasional kangaroo. Most are pretty shy and will move on the moment they spot you. The best chance of spotting wildlife is around sunset near one of the creeks in the Chermside Hills Reserves.

The Green Bridge over Hamilton Road linking Raven Street Reserve to Milne Hill Reserve
There is a path that goes around about two thirds of the hill. This well maintained track is popular with joggers who run the track then run up one of the paths to the top of the hill, back down the other side and then do another circuit.

The path around Milne Hill
The top of the hill is easily accessible by either a bitumen road, that is closed to traffic, or a gravel path. These both meetup with the path around the hill. At the top of the paths is a water reservoir. The view here is a little disappointing and you will have to go a little higher to find the views.

Brisbane City visible behind the water tank on Milne Hill
You will notice a slim path and stairs heading to the very top ridge of the hill. This is where you want to go for views.

The stairs up to the very top of Milne Hill
The top of the hill has a bench facing west. You can also look out over the water tank to see the city off in the distance. Here you have the best sunset views that I have found in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane. Not many people visit this reserve and fewer go up to the very top of the hill, so normally you can sit here and contemplate the view without interruption.

While the reserve is small it also links to the Chermisde Hills Reserve by a footpath beside Killarney Place and the Raven Street Reserve via the green bridge over Hamilton Road. Overall you can easily do an 8 km walk through the combination of reserves.
