In a world where there is too much violence there are groups of happy weavers around Australia working on a project to make one million stars to have on display during the **2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
**
It is part of the One Million Stars to End Violence and many people are working to provide woven stars which will be part of the GC2018 Installation at the Games, as well as gaining publicity to help end violence.

There will be a workshop which will be presented by Multicultural Youth Queensland in tandem with the Community Harmony Festival folk, to learn how to make the stars using traditional weaving methods. It will be held at the Hyperdome Library on April 8th, from 10 am to 11.30 am.

The event is free – but you will need to book to secure your place in the workshop. Click here to book.

You can read more about the One Million Stars to End Violence on their website. If you wish to make stars for the Commonwealth Games in 2018, you will need to send them in before July 2017. Check the One Million Stars to End Violence website .

There are groups all around the world creating stars - so attend the workshop and learn how to create these stars and be part of this worthwhile project to end violence.
