The RSPCA is rolling out the green carpet for you and your canine friends on Sunday 28 May. Whether your pet dog likes to strut, crawl or bolt, they will be more than welcome at this fun-filled day out. Taking place nationwide, you can find a walk near you at the website
millionpawswalk.com.au
In Sydney, paws and joggers will abound at
Sydney Olympic Park from 9.00am to 2.30pm. The walk will start at 10.00am from
Cathy Freeman Park with the option to undertake a 2km or 4km trail. The event will also hold a 'kibble bag-full' of activities from competitions and games to food stalls, live entertainment and professional paw-tography!
Ticket prices vary depending on the walk location, ranging from $16 - $24 per adult or $8 - $12 per child or concession holder. (
Note: prices will change from 18 April so booking early is recommended.) Other NSW locations include Lake Illawarra, Coffs Harbour, Goulburn, Burrill Lake, Albury, Bathurst, Mudgee, Speers Point and Broken Hill.
The walk will raise funds for the RSPCA to support dogs in need. You can become a fundraiser and earn rewards for reaching milestones. If you raise $108, your pet will be awarded a special hero's cape (bandana)! The funds will help the RSPCA provide shelter to a dog for three days. You can also prepare for the big day by picking up
merchandise online for both you and your pooch. Be 'extra' and adorn yourself and your pet with matching outfits!
Don't forget to book your ticket to join in the festivities. There will be no shortage of wagging tails to thank you!
