Picturesque views of Hunter Valley

My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Tuscany Wine Estate Resort over a weekend. We appreciated the relaxed feel from the moment we arrived. The reception staff welcomed us warmly and provided information about this place, and highly recommended The Mill Restaurant and Brokenback Bar, swimming pool, tennis court, Arrowfield cellar door and Binnorie soft cheese factory.

The Olive Grove Room

On this occasion, we settled into a large Olive Grove Room. We were drawn to the wooden queen sized sleigh bed with fluffy duvets and European pillows!

Views from our room

Our room overlooked an open grassed area onto the bushland setting through a line of young Olive trees. It was a warm and inviting room under the warm afternoon sun.

The highlight of our stay was the delicious complimentary continental breakfast at the Mill Restaurant that was included with each night's stay.

We had a tranquil morning walk around the winery before heading to breakfast. The Mill Restaurant is easily identified by the large windmill with a truly authentic Australian country ambiance.

The staff were really friendly and courteous. Immediately we were shown to our seats that boasted an interrupted views of the picturesque Hunter Valley wine country and the Brokenback ranges. This was the perfect place to have a long breakfast on the weekend.

Hot Breakfast Buffet ($30/person)

We found the elaborated breakfast spread was spectacular and scrumptious. There were a choice of cereals, good quality yogurt and artisan breads.

An abundance of choices that placed in front of us

I absolutely loved the fresh fruit bowl which contained the juiciest rock melon, honeydew melon, watermelon and strawberries. The berry yogurt was served in shot glass and I thought it was pretty innovative (considering we were in a winery resort).

Something to please the 'Gourmet Foodies' and the 'Traditionalist'

I got some scramble eggs, vegetarian frittata, bacons, sausage, grilled tomato and mushrooms to start off.

Delicious hot breakfast

My friend got mixed baked beans, poached eggs cooked to order, pork sausages and a generous slice of frittata. They were absolutely delicious and moreish. I went for a second helping....

Sweet start to the morning

We also could not resist the selection of freshly baked sweet and savory croissants and pastries. I really liked the guava jam on the flaky danish and I thought it was something I would like to have it again. We tried a fluffy sweet pancake served with maple syrup and strawberries and that just marked the perfect finish to our breakfast.

Charming rustic country restaurant

We really enjoyed our stay at Tuscany Wine Estate Resort and the breakfast buffet at the The Mill Restaurant. We felt content after a good night sleep and a solid feed. We then started on our wine tasting exploration in the Hunter Valley region.
