You Won't Believe How Amazing These Milkshakes are
Forget the parties just for kids, this one is so fantastic you could do it for the teenagers or even your adult friends - maybe even for the adults you could add in some alcoholic milkshakes. Now you're talking!
If you do have a kid's birthday party to organise, this one is going to blow their minds.
When we were kids, one of our favourite experiences was sitting at the local milk bar sipping an icy cold milkshake from a tin cup. These days people have become even more extravagant and now I'm going to share with you some fantastic ideas for some mindblowing milkshake parties.
Whether you wish to go for the incredibly decadent double chocolate milkshakes or even reasonably healthy ones like blueberry or vanilla bean shakes they all need to be icy cold delicious and creamy; possibly even brain freeze worthy.
However if things like salted caramel and bread and butter pudding do not seem to fit with your concept of a milkshake then read on.
In a world of decadence, milkshakes have been taken to a whole new level with many stores offering outrageous concoctions in the form of a milkshake so why not jump on the bandwagon and create your own? Really all you need is some milk, some ice cream and a whole lot of treats.

Pretty much anything can be used as a flavouring for your milkshakes. Any standard topping will be fine, however a little tip; if you're wanting to make an incredibly decadent chocolate topping, much better than a bought bottle of topping, then simply take powdered drinking chocolate and mix it with hot water to a thin paste. This will make the best chocolate topping you've ever had, then it is just a case of adding in all sorts of decadence to the milkshake itself.
Drizzle chocolate around the inside of the cup, then put in a generous serve of milk and a scoop of ice cream. Now, here's where it gets creative. On top of this, add some whipped cream, then squeeze over more of your topping and add all sorts of broken up chocolate, such as a Flake bar or perhaps chopped up Mars bars, Maltesers, white chocolate drops and any other favourite sweets. You can pile this up as high as you like. One of the tricks that the stores are doing at the moment is all in the serving.
Take a small wooden platter, also known as a paddle board, and place a piece of waxed paper or a paper doily down. On top of this, place your jar or glass filled with your concoction on the paper and then as you add the chocolate or sweet toppings, don't stop at the milkshake itself. Sprinkle them all around the paddle board as well so that your milkshake becomes more of a tasting platter than just a drink.
Some other wacky concoctions include:
Cake Batter Milkshakes
Pumpkin Pie Milkshake
Banana Pudding Milkshake
Not all have to be bad for you. Take a look at some of my favourites below, blended with frozen berries and coconut milk - yum!
I did mention this was all about throwing a mind melting milkshake party and a drink does not make a party, although these ones go pretty close to the full party.
To complete the experience:
Send your invitations with a milkshake or sweet treat theme
Make a cake that looks like a milkshake.
When it is ready to go home from your party after serving the decadent treats, put your basic ingredients (excluding milk and ice cream) in a take home jar or bag, to allow your guests to make their own milkshake at home. Some good ideas may include a pile of chopped up chocolate, chocolate sauce in little bottles, and a note that says "Add milk and ice cream".
I have seen some little bottles from the $2 shop you could fill with your milkshake sauce / chocolate mix and add this in also with the lovely treats as part of the take home treat bag.
It sure to be filled with decadence, oohs and ahhs and people will be talking about your milkshake party for weeks.
What is your favourite milkshake?
Have you come up with a concoction that is all your own or has this article inspired you to make something amazing?
We would love to hear about your creations, please add a note at the top of this article as to which ones are your favourite
Some great ideas Lesley but as exotic and wonderful as these would surely be for me there is still no milkshake more speicla than the one served up in the traditional tin cup. There is a cafe called Sensational Sandwiched in wonthaggi who still serve them this way.
