Mornings are hard. In a perfect world, anything said before 10 am is inadmissible. Eggs, bacon and coffee would magically appear and silence would reign supreme. But alas, this is not the case. Thankfully, in Melbourne, we seem to have more cafes than people so at least the coffee and food part of the equation has been settled for us.



This is where the comes in. A beacon of light in the Ashburton shopping strip, serving great coffee and the perfect scrambled eggs every time.
As of late, the Ashburton strip has had a few new cafes open up, but Milk Cloud still holds out as the local haunt for those who truly love a great cafe experience. At any given time of day the place is teeming with locals, which always a good sign.
The place is also family friendly, and I can seldom walk past without my daughter requesting we stop for the mini-cupcakes and a babycino.


Split out over two levels, there is plenty of seating and room to breathe, plenty of light and the decor is pretty basic, but nice. The menu is fairly basic cafe fare, but since it's done deliciously, you seldom wish to stray from that anyway.
Located right next to Ashburton Railway Station, if you're in the area I truly recommend you pop in a grab some coffee and cake. You will not regret it.
