When the Milford Street Shakers last brought their high-powered style of Soul music to Margaret River in January 2021, it was with Tell Mama, The Music of Etta James.

A year later, they are back at The River Hotel with an electric performance of Motown Dance Party on Friday January 21, 2022. The 11-piece soul band will be blasting out its versions of the music of artists including Marvin Gaye, Etta James, the Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and the Temptations.

It's the Soul music of the Sixties in a spectacular stage show of Soul and Motown classics from the studios of Stax, Muscle Shoals or Atlantic Records with the music of Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, New York and Alabama when they were at the heart of the Soul experience.
Motown Records, founded in New York in 1959 epitomised the revolution in music that was taking part at the time, churning out number one hit singles that included Where Did Our Love Go, Baby Love, You Can't Hurry Love, You Keep Me Hangin' On, and Stop! In the Name of Love.
The band has performed in venues large and small all over Western Australia.
The record company became synonymous with the slick lyrics and polished delivery of rhythm and blues at the time. It' something of that era that The Milford Street Shakers will bring to Margaret River.

The Milford Street Shakers join the likes of musicians including Paul Dempsey, The Beautiful Girls, Seth Sentry, Vikki Thorn (The Waifs), Stella Donnelly & Alex The Astronaut, Sola Rosa from New Zealand, San Cisco, Eric Bibb, Ash Grunwald, Nahko, Jeff Martin, and Salmonella Dub to perform at The River.
Since 2016, The Milford Street Shakers have been exciting West Australian audiences from the top to the bottom of the State with performances at festivals and venues large and small.

The band also features James Vinciullo on bass, Dom D'Leno on drums, Imogen Thomson on percussion, Andy Jarvis on guitar, Austin Salisbury on keyboards, Robert Bresland on trumpet, Mark Sprogowski on tenor sax, Jemima Mills on baritone sax and backing vocalists Taonga Thomson-Lawrence and Roera Mako.
