This is VQSN's (Victorian Queer Student Network) first event for 2015. They're doing a breakfast before the Midsumma Festival at 9am on Sunday 18th January at Federation Square. After breakfast you are invited to attend the Festival with VQSN as a group. If you've not attended the Midsumma Festival before, it's a great event that showcases various aspects of queer culture. CLICK HERE to find out more. This breakfast is a great opportunity to meet new people or to catch up with others from across Victoria. Bring a plate, bring a friend, this is a free event. CLICK HERE to join their Event page if you're going so they have an idea of numbers and you can keep your finger on the pulse for updates such as exactly where the group is meeting.
VQSN is all about queer reps from across all universities in Melbourne and Victoria that get together and organise events for everyone across all universities. In other words a 'cross uni event'. This is not a new concept however 2014 has been the year that VQSN has had the most engagement with their network. Their focus is to work together to create a community that brings everyone together and to produce bigger and better events that gets everyone involved. Where like minded people can bring their ideas together that will keep people interested in forming a society that is connected, networks, parties and snowballs into bigger and better things. The future holds not just 'wet events' (where alcohol is served) but 'dry events' as well, such as art shows for example. Anyone can get involved, so just check with your Uni Queer Reps on campus or with your Union.
