A 3000 year old tradition when family reunion, many moon legends and traditional practices are celebrated, join in the Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival in Melbourne's Chinatown Square at Cohen Place in the CBD on Saturday 7 September 2019 from 12noon to 10pm.

Admission to the Chinese Museum Open Day on the day is FREE, however there are ticketed events like the Taste of Chinatown Lunch from 12noon to 2pm.

Chinatown Heritage Walks begin at 2pm and involve outdoor cultural activities, lantern making, mooncake demonstrations, tea ceremony and riddles. Are you any good at riddles? Pop-up Asian food stalls will operate from 4pm onwards with stage performances beginning at 5pm for Open Ceremonies and Lion Dances. As darkness falls, the Lantern Parade begins at 7.15pm. Family friendly, enjoy the festivities, the light, colour, sounds and smells of this Festival and take the opportunity to visit the museum.
