Hilarity with wrestling legend Mick Foley & Brendon Burns

Getting hit over the head with a steel chair doesn't seem like a laughing matter.

Neither does being driven through a flaming trestle table.

It certainly wasn't for Mick Foley when he was putting his body through some of the most extreme, death-defying matches ever seen in professional wrestling.

Yet, with his in-ring days now behind him, the man known as the "Hardcore Legend" is looking back at some of the lighter moments of his career and trying his hand at stand-up comedy.

After performing earlier this year at the esteemed Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Foley and Australian comedian Brendon Burns will be bringing their show 'Good God Almighty!' to Melbourne's Athenaeum Theatre on Monday February 11th, 2013.

The show is being billed as an hour and a half of hilarious wrestling stories.

While it would certainly help to be a wrestling fan, it's not necessarily essential. As Steve Bennett from UK comedy website Chortle wrote: "[Foley] gives the fans some of the behind-the-scenes gossip they crave, but it's not alienating for the rest of us."

It is perhaps Foley's Australian counterpart who is most fanatical about the wrestling aspect, with Bennett stating that "Burns wants it to be a night for wrestlemaniacs only; Foley wants it open for all, regardless of whether you know your suplex from your Boston crab."

For those who are wrestlemaniacs, there is a ticket category that includes a meet and greet. While many celebrities rush through autograph signings with little fan interaction, a Wrestling News World review of one of Foley's recent post-show meet and greets noted that "it appeared as if Foley was taking his time meeting with everyone in attendance." The reviewer was "even more impressed with how personable Foley is, regardless of his legendary status."

Tickets that include the meet and greet are $79.90, while those for just the show are $59.90. They're on sale now through Ticketek.
