Race car on the corner
The Newcastle MG Car Club that hold the Mattara hill climb each year also have their own track at East Seaham.
On the 24th of May they are holding round three of the Championship at Ringwood park just 10km north of Raymond Terrace on the Pacific Highway and turn down Italia Road. The entry is well marked on the lefthand side of the road.
With free entry to the event and a very family friendly atmosphere, this is a great event to take the kid's along too. There is almost always something going on on the circuit and the competitors are usually happy to talk about their cars and the event.
There is also a chance that you can get into the pit area to have a close up look at the cars.
There will be all sorts of cars there on the day from local club members that drive their car through the week to open wheel race cars.
If you can't make it this time, there are several club events through the year that you are welcome to come along to as well.
So pack up the family and bring them out to experience a different type of motor racing.
