Queensland's Metro Arts has a death wish, literally. It is holding the first arts and culture festival for Queenslanders to talk about death and embrace grief. Held in Brisbane, Deathfest runs from 12 to 20 November, 2016. Check out the Order of Service :

* Saturday, 12 November, 2016:

[/LINK]**Dr Hilda Maclean guides you through the Christ Church Milton Memorial Garden.

Commencing: 3.00pm and 4.00pm
Admission: FREE and bookings essential from this link .

After the cemetery tour, you are welcome at the special twilight concert.

[/LINK]**This intriguing work by Linsey Pollak and Lizzie O'Keefe combines human voices with the sounds of endangered and extinct animals. You will take a musical journey to a world where human and animal sounds combine. This event also includes a performance of Brisbane Threshold Choir.

Venue: Christ Church Milton, 9 Chippendall Street, Milton
Commencing: 5.00pm
Admission: No bookings are required and a donation at the door will support the Christ Church Milton.

* Monday, 14 November, 2016:

[/LINK]**Starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment this 1999 film deals with one person's supernatural abilities creating consequences resulting in the unexplainable.

* Tuesday, 15 November, 2016

[/LINK]**A Japanese film dealing with newly dead people caught in limbo. Counsellors help these each select a single memory from their lives to take with them into eternity.

* Wednesday, 16 to Sunday, 20 November, 2016

[/LINK]**Exquisite provides a unique exploration of love and loss with those around us. Internationally renowned Fran Barbe's unique choreography presents a beautiful theatrical experience. Brian Lucas, Min Zhu and Fran Barbe dance to the original music composed and performed by Mace Francis and his Orchestra.

Commencing: 7.00pm on 16 to 19 November and 12.00 midday on 20 November

Join in Dawn Albinger's An Invitation to Sit with Death Awhile

[/LINK]**In this Japanese film a musician finds work in a mortuary and slowly realises he has found his true calling in life.

[/LINK]**A five-hour performance by Julie Vulcan where volunteers are invited to 'stand in' for a faceless individual.

Venue: Basement, Metro Arts
Commencing: 5.00pm, Friday; 2.00pm Saturday
Admission: $5 at the door

[/LINK]Yarn Storytelling is a quarterly storytelling event, featuring true stories, told live and without notes. Good Grief **explores relationships with loss and what can ultimately be gained by the experiences.

[/LINK]**Enjoy some drinks and nibbles as you converse with Sarah Winch on all things related to death and dying.

Admission: $25 per person online ; includes two drinks of wine/beer and nibbles

Performance: Dangerous Song
A concert by Linsey Pollak and Lizzie O'Keefe combining the human voice with sounds of endangered and extinct animals creating an absorbing and poignant musical performance.

Installation: I Stand In
The installation resulting from the two performances of **I Stand In.

Conversation: Dying Well and Death N Art
Zenith Virago and a group of speakers discuss death and dying and how to die well.

Performance: Songs of the Leaving
David Megarrity points towards how songs sometimes sing of the final going away.

Venue: Sue Benner Theatre, Metro Arts
Commencing: 2.30pm

Film: Griefwalker
A portrait of Stephen Jenkinson's work with dying people filmed over twelve years. Griefwalker shows Jenkinson teaching doctors and nurses and counselling dying people and their families. Elham Day from Hummingbird House introduces the film and facilitates a post screening Q&A.
