Coorparoo Metre Market - pick up something gorgeous as a gift, or for yourself

From Sunday 5th May, the Brisbane Southside lifestyle and eatery precinct, Coorparoo Square, is now home to the Metre Market.

Brisbane's Metre Market (also at Carindale and Fortitude Valley) is a boutique, creative market, supporting local handmade products. It seems more and more of us are seeking out unique, one-off items made with care by locals, over cheaply produced generic items. And this Brisbane market is a great place to find them.

Recycled and upcycled fashions take pride of place

At the Metre Market, the various designers, makers and artists sell their recycled fashions, handmade homewares and plants. For example, on May 5th two of the stallholders are well-known vegan skincare brand Rustic Pepperment, and fabric homeware designer Home Dweller.

Grab something to eat while supporting local handmade talent

While shopping you can enjoy the live music. Kicking things off in the market's new Coorparoo home on May 5 are Indie duo McDermott and North. There's also coffee and brekky to be had during a break from browsing.

One point of difference to other markets is that the handmade theme continues a different DIY workshop available each month. In May, learn how to make Pastel Pals Acrylic earrings (ticket availability limited). Shopping, coffee and craft? Sounds like a fantastic morning out with a friend.
