Don't miss this carpark pop up event for Chinese New Year
Wonderbao is coming back to the Gelato Messina Rosebery carpark in 2019 for a Chinese New Year feast. You will not want to miss this! The Year of the Pig means there will be some delicious dishes at this event!

Wonderbao restaurant will be going from Melbourne to Sydney for the Chinese New Year. Sometimes known as "the bao bosses", they will have a brand new menu at Messina Eats headquarters and the carpark event.

This will be held on Friday 1st February and Saturday 2nd February 2019, from 12 noon until 9.00. It will be held at Messina Eats Wonderbao, 58 Mentmore Ave, Rosebery.

Have you ever tasted the traditional bao? If not, now is your chance to try these delicious bun type inventions. If you have tried them, you are sure to want to attend this event to eat the best ones. Of course being the Year of the Pig, it will feature pork in the " baost" possible way! These masters of Chinese dumplings will make a new range of filled and steamed bao and there will be three new gua baos:

Roast pork with pickled carrot, daikon, cucumber and hoisin sauce
Beer battered fried chicken with pickled red cabbage, curry leaf and Nyonya mayo
Fried tofu with okonomiyaki sauce, nori, pickles and togarashi spice

The pop-up will also have their traditionally filled baos. In these, you will be able to choose from barbecue pork, a vegan shiitake mushroom invention or a sweet egg custard bun. As a side dish, you can have some fries with pork floss, spring onion and sesame seeds. Hmmm - are you drooling yet? Have I caught your interest?

But wait, there's more - for dessert they will bring back their very popular mango pancake. These are mango crepes filled with mango sorbet and whipped cream. They are just like the ones you are used to getting at yum cha, but with gelato.

As well as all this, you will be able to have two custom drinks, all to wash down the Lunar New Year celebrations.

Gelato Messina does not use preservatives, flavourings, colourings or similar as nothing is ready made. They only use real ingredients and flavours in all their gelato and sorbets. The dairy flavours have less fat content and their sorbets are completely fat-free, dairy-free and full of fruit.

They also make an amazing selection of gelato cakes and single pieces that will have you coming back for more!
