It's just not Christmas without going to a performance of Handel's Messiah!
Perth Symphonic Chorus, known for its outstanding performances, is presenting this great work on Saturday 18th December at 7.30 pm at the Perth Concert Hall.
Directed by Perth's pre-eminent choral director Dr Margaret Pride OAM, acclaimed WA soloists Rachelle Durkin, Fiona Campbell, Paul O'Neill and Jake Bigwood, will bring this work to life with outstanding virtuosity and musicianship.
Handel's real genius, however, is revealed in the great and exhilarating choruses sung to perfection by the Chorus and accompanied by the nationally recognised Perth Baroque Orchestra led by virtuoso violinist Paul Wright. The sombre and hushed beauty of choruses like Since By Man Came Death are juxtaposed with the grandeur and impact of the climactic moments in the Hallelujah chorus and the final extended and thrilling Amen chorus. Without a doubt, Handel's Messiah is one of the greatest oratorios ever written.
With soaring choruses, beautiful, memorable arias and compelling, driving rhythms, Handel's Messiah makes for a wonderful and joyous concert experience, particularly this close to Christmas Day.
Tickets can be obtained through the Perth Concert Hall Box Office on 08 9231 9999 or online at www.perthconcerthall.com.au/events/event/handels-messiah-2021.
Tickets are priced between $20 to $89 and early bookings are advised.
