Mixing with Merv
Flying Arts is a fantastic organisation promoting visual art in Queensland and it has made significant contributions to Queensland 's cultural vibrancy. One of its main advocates has been Mervyn Moriarty, who has worked tirelessly to teach, promote and influence other young artists. Flying Arts Alliance offers workshops and residencies for artists and has a rich programme of events and exhibitions with particular emphasis on regional and remote areas.

The Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA) is an annual visual arts prize and exhibition for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland. The program aims to provide a platform for further professional development and in fact the awards have just been announced.

Flying Arts is reaching the ripe old age of 45 but it is younger and more spirited then ever. Flying Arts is holding a retrospective exhibition called Colour. To accompany this exhibition Fying Arts is presenting a series of public programmes.
