'Sondheim and Furth's finest flop'

After debuting with the critically acclaimed, sell-out production of Sunday in the Park with George, Little Triangle is proudly presenting a limited 3-week season of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's musical Merrily We Roll Along. Tickets are now on sale.

Merrily We Roll Along has been 'long regarded as one of the beautiful and damned misfits of the Sondheim canon' and yet remains 'emotionally resonant', bringing out the 'sharpness in the showbiz satire' following this 'friendship under siege' (Ben Brantley, The New York Times).

The forthcoming Little Triangle production is directed by Alexander Andrews and features an exciting cast of emerging Australian performers.

Franklin Shepard, a successful songwriter and movie producer in his late thirties, reviews his life, both professional and personal, especially his relationships with his best friends, Mary Flynn and Charley Kringas (his song-writing collaborator), and his two wives, Beth and Gussie.

The action moves backward in time from 1976 to 1957, from the disappointments of adulthood, to the hopeful idealism of youth.

Directed by Alexander Andrews, with Musical Director Conrad Hamill, Producer Rose McClelland, Repetiteur & Pianist Antonio Fernandez, Stage Manager Chris Starnawski and Costumes and Props by Mitchell Wassink, the Little Triangle production features a talented local cast including Patrick Howard (Frank), Zach Selmes (Charley), Victoria Zerbst (Mary), Richard Woodhouse (Joe), Matilda Moran (Gussie), Shannen Sarsedt (Beth), Embla Bishop (Mrs. Spencer), Phoebe Clark (Meg), Blake Condon (Jerome), Victoria Luxton (Dory), Jesse Layt (Tyler), Kelly Goddard (Scotty), Caitlin Rose Harris (K.T.), Tayla Jarrett (Ru), Katelin Koprivec (Terry) and Michael McPhee (Bunker).

"Production company Little Triangle's potential for presenting quality small-scale musical theatre on a shoe-string is one of the most exciting things to happen in Sydney's indie Music Theatre scene..." - StageWhispers

"I look forward to many more nights of tight, inventive theatre with this group and I predict big things." - CutCommon
