The main attraction of this playground is the 'gas station and motoring' themed playhouse which includes petrol browser, pumps, candy shop and a mechanic workshop. Any idea why the playground is being themed as such? In my opinion, perhaps it's due to the history of Waverton being the former site of BP oil company which has undergone re-mediation and transformed to Carradah Park (just walking distance from the playground).
If you would like to bring lunch or picnic in the playground, there is a small table and some stools (nice for kids to learn about shapes as well) suitable for kids as well as benches and table for adults under the tree.
There is also water fountain installed to quench your thirst on hot days (it looks quite new to me, but I did not check its working condition). All in all, Merret playground seems to have something to offer for kids of all ages and abilities. It is well-kept and clean.
