Coorparoo Marketplace is a bustling hub of activity, with several cafes, Woolworths and a variety of specialty shops. A regular haunt and unabashed personal favourite of mine is the Merlo Coffee Torrefazione shop and cafe.

Pet-friendly and a great place to bring your four-legged friend/s, Merlo has both indoor and alfresco dining, an extensive coffee and tea menu, a selection of coffee-related merchandise and friendly, fast service.

If the indoor seating was improved I wouldn't complain about it, but a Sunday morning enjoying coffee and a limoncello biscuit outside in the shade, is one of my favourite ways to spend some free time and a great way to spot cute puppies.



Merlo coffee is known for its rich and smooth flavour. Originating in Italy with Luigi Merlo's Trattoria in Tirano, it's a hugely popular blend worldwide. The shop aspect of Merlo at Coorparoo Marketplace has a range of coffee-making supplies, including coffee machines, beans, milk jugs, travels mugs and other assorted goodies.

If you have a hankering for a great coffee and a nice outdoor (but undercover) dining experience, head on down to Merlo Coffee Torrefazione. Or get a takeaway on your way to work, there's a whole separate section for takeaway dinners. I'd highly recommend the experience if you're a coffee fan.
