The salad saga
Much respect for the Merewether Surfhouse,I have been to the cafe on many occasions and have been satisfied at the end of my meal. But this time, well, here's to say I was less than impressed.

Went to the bar part (beside the restaurant) with a group of girlfriends. That day I was feeling a little like being healthy (shock - it doesn't happen often) and so I decided to order something a bit lighter. All the girls got pizzas and yes, they seemed to look pretty tasty with some good topping choices, a lot of cheese, but hey, the more the merrier I say.

Mmmhhh pizza!

I ordered a salad. It was the only one on the mains (and I love a good salad). It was a tomato, mozzarella and basil salad for $17.50. Well, it sounds like an entree but surely, for $17.50, it would have to be decent!

To my surprise, when it came out - one layer of a few tomatoes, seven bits of ripped mozzarella and a few basil leaves.
This is a main?

What? I'm not a rabbit, surely most humans eat more than that for a main!

Bitterly disappointed.

I can't say it didn't taste alright, but I should have just gone home and cut a few tomatoes from the fridge to chew on.

Tried to tell the waiter it was not worth my money, he seemed nervous and couldn't wait to get away from my table so he didn't have to hear me speak.

Hoping this is a one off, because it is a fabulous place and has great atmosphere, so people whatever you do, don't order the salad, unless you like kids meal sizes ... hang on I think it was smaller.
