Cat meditation - no, you don't need to bring your own cat and somehow manipulate them into a yoga pose. This meditation is for you - for your stress levels - but it also happens to involve cats. It's purrfect!
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue is a charity organisation devoting itself to rescuing and helping rehome homeless cats. The benefit of this, of course, is that there are plenty of cats willing to receive your attention.
Studies have shown that being with a cat can help reduce stress levels and even help you on the road to overcoming grief. So imagine the benefits of meditating in an environment surrounded by these gentle fluff balls.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue is hosting 4 weekly mindfulness sessions in order for you to "learn how to breathe again, how to be comfortably still and silent; how to be 'present' within your own life". With exams, end of year parties and upcoming Christmas shopping, this might be just the thing you need to take a moment to unwind.
"All sessions focus on different topics" - so you can come to all or just one. It's up to you. Starting on Monday the 20th and ending on the 11th of December, each session will run for an hour from 7 - 8 pm.
Participants are advised to bring their own bottle of water, a cushion and a blankie if required. Herbal teas provided if you bring your own mug. If you would like to jot down some notes, you can bring a notepad and pen, or you can purchase them in the Neko shop before the session commences."
