Rock on with Mental As Anything performing live at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly on Sunday 24 September.



Doors open at 5pm for the 5:30pm main show start with pre-show entertainment in the Boardwalk Cafe from 1pm to 5pm. A great way to spend a Sunday by Manly Marina. It's standing room only for the Mentals – the only way to enjoy this music – with tickets just $30.



Mental As Anything started their career as Sydney art students in the mid-1970s with a band playing a mix of blues, sixties pop, rockabilly, country and increasingly their own original compositions to fill in time at art school in Sydney Australia.



Their initial audience was students at parties pubs and Uni dances until they caught the attention of new independent label Regular Records. In 1978, they sold out of 1300 copies in a fortnight of the three track vinyl "Mental As Anything Plays At Your Party" with one track: "The Nips Are Getting Bigger" that was the popular radio hit of Christmas 1978.

The next year the song became the band's first nationwide hit on Festival Records. The LP "Get Wet" was released to set up a solid stream of hit records through the 1980s and into the 1990s with such hits as "Come Around", "Too Many Times", "If You Leave Me Can I Come Too?", "Live It Up" and "The Nips are Getting Bigger", " were ALL in the Australian Top 30.
