The Age is celebrating Good Food Month in November. After a roaring success in Sydney last year, The Noodle Market comes to Melbourne.

For 2 weeks, get ready for a culinary extravaganza as cooks get their woks in action. Visit your favorite local eateries in a hawker style fiesta. Aangan from Footscray brings kebabs, biryanis and other specialities from India. Gorge on Thai curries, salads, meats, noodles from Long grain, Chin Chin or fried chicken from the famous Taiwanese Ghost Kitchen. Enjoy authentic Chinese dumplings, Malaysian Mee Goreng, Nepali momos, barbeque chicken in Filipino sauce or Vietnamese bao. Witness your favorite dishes being cooked in front of you.

Though each culture brings its different style, great taste will be a common feature. Not to forget the gelatos and sorbets in unique flavors like coconut, mango, peanut butter to satisfy your sweet tooth. In addition, there would be four bars to quench your thirst with beers, gin and wines.

Mark your calender for this annual event and reach early to avoid the expected long queues. For details of timings and map to the venue, click here. Bring your friends and families along to enjoy these starry nights full of entertainment, music and some leisure time amidst the spice and sizzle of Asian street food.

Great concept - hopeless execution.

The event was obviously totally unprepared for the numbers of people who showed up. Maybe you should have to buy 'timed tickets', (like the recent food event at Albert Park). This prevents vendors and facilities being overwhelmed.

Nowhere to sit, ridiculously long queues and very ordinary food made for a horrible evening.

Will not bother next year.
