Whether you seek a treat for your own special occasion, or would like to book an indulgent afternoon for someone you care for, you won't need to look far to find a suitable high tea venue in Melbourne.

From the atmospheric charm of Hopetoun Tea Rooms in Melbourne's elegant Block Arcade, to the high end luxury of Park Hyatt Melbourne located within the 'Paris End' of the city, Melbourne high teas cater for all.

Art Themed High Teas at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV)

Melbourne's iconic art gallery arrange themed high teas that align with the NGV's current exhibits. For example, right now you can book onto the Tale of Two Cities High Tea; a morning or afternoon treat with savouries and sweets inspired by the Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei exhibition.

Tale of Two Cities High Tea: 10am - 2:30pm. 11 December 2015 – 24 April 2016
Cost: $83 Adult, includes entry into exhibition. Members price $72.30.

High Teas in the Rainforest Room at Melbourne Zoo

Every Sunday, Melbourne Zoo hosts afternoon high tea buffets in the Rainforest Room. Join your fellow animal lovers at 2pm, where you will feast on a selection of sweet and savouries. Because you will be spending the afternoon in a special part of the zoo, you will have access to a private animal exhibit, home to the tiny squirrel-sized tamarin monkeys.



Children are very welcome, and prices include entry into the zoo to enjoy the other exhibits up to 1 hour prior.

When: every Sunday, 2pm.
Cost: from $68 per adult, $33 per child. Zoo members discounted.

Vegan and Gluten Free High Teas at Impala & Peacock

Traditional tiffins are usually laden with wheat and diary, and therefore suitable for vegans or coeliacs. If your diet is restricted to vegan and or gluten free, you'll be pleased to hear there is a high tea just for you in Sydney Road, Brunswick. Impala & Peacock treat you to tiered high tea platter, serving delights such as quinoa filled mushrooms, savoury scones, fresh coconut cream scones with jam, rose vanilla tea cakes, and more.



When: 11am and 2:30pm on Sunday and 2:30pm Monday-Friday.

Children's Themed High Teas at The Langham

Melbourne's iconic Southbank hotel The Langham offer fun themed children's themed high teas within the Melba Restaurant. Previous events have seen families enjoy a feast filled with Minions themed treats, Barbie styled sweets and savouries, Disney's Frozen high teas, Smurf, Wiggles and more.



This summer sees Sesame Street delicacies fill your kid's tummies. A sample of what's on the menu; Elmo macarons, Cookie Monster cupcakes, Big Bird popcorn cups, Bert banana heads and more.

Children's high teas at The Langham are made for little people, so you can leave the Ernie ducky shaped vegetable pizzas for your kids. All children will need to be accompanied by an adult, but you can indulge in a Wedgwood or Chocolate Indulgence High Tea, which including a glass of sparkling wine, espresso coffee and leaf tea.

Sesame Street High Tea: Weekdays from 28 December 2015 - 29 January 2016. 10am or midday.
