Melbourne is undeniably a foodie city, but what are some of the more dramatic experiences you can have within our food scene? Sure, there's Dracula's dinner theatre, but the below experiences make food and view the lead actors in your dining experience.

1. Chill On Ice Lounge .

Although this is one of the few bars in Melbourne with a cover charge, it's worth it. In a country that rarely sees snow at sea level, Ice Lounge is a completely new experience. The entry fee of $30 includes a cocktail to keep the extremities warm, served in a glass made of ice.Details: 10am-1am Fri/Sat; 10am-11pm other days3 Southgate Ave, Southbank03) 9663 3877

2. Mystery and intrigue with The French Dinner .

This pop-up restaurant company proposes a dining experience like no other. Not only are you delivered by antique car to your secret dining venue (one not ordinarily used as a restaurant) but you are presented with a six-course dinner designed by legendary Jacques Reymond, and matching wines. The menu even works in the seasons, something dear to a real foodie's heart. All of this will put pressure on the wallet, though with tickets reaching toward the $200 mark.

If this is out of your price range, Secret Foodies present an engaging dinner at a location that remains a secret until the last second for around $100.
Details: A mystery... woooo.

3. The world's a stage at Vue de Monde .

Sitting at the top of the Rialto, Vue de Monde has to be up there with Melbourne's most dramatic dining experiences. Not only does the restaurant have all of Melbourne at its feet, it has the theatricality favoured by head chef Shannon Bennett. Prepare for a molecular gastronomy-themed dinner, suitably priced at the top end of Melbourne's dining range.

Details: 6pm-11.45pm all days for dinner; 12pm-2pm for lunch Thurs-Sun

4. Naked in the Sky .

If you want a view with your meal, but don't want to pay a premium for it, Naked in the Sky is the place to be. The upstairs section of Naked for Satan on Fitzroy's Brunswick Street is actually the top of the building, five floors up. Floor-to-ceiling windows (and a 180-degree verandah) allow for some exceptional city gazing. Not only is their view impressive, the cocktail list is as well.

Details: 12pm-1am Fri/Sat; 12pm-12am other days
285 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy

5. Titanic the dinner .

At least one theatre restaurant had to make it to this list, and really it had to be Titanic. This theatre restaurant sets its diners on the Titanic during the last dinner they'll ever have.
Details: 6.30pm every Saturday (see website for details)
