As the weather starts heating up its the perfect time to enjoy a trip to the movies, in the outdoors. There are a great selection of outdoor cinemas around Melbourne, each has its own charm. So grab your deck chairs and your picnic rugs, and let us know which one you think is the best. We need your help in finding Melbourne's best outdoor cinema.
The Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema has to be held in one of the most stunning locations to enjoy a film. You'll pick out a spot on the lush grass at the Royal Botanic Gardens, surrounded by the exotic and beautiful plants of the gardens. You can bring along a picnic basket and enjoy it under the starlit night while the cinema plays some of the best new films alongside some old favourites. There are Moonlight Cinemas all over Australia, and they have to be one of Melbourne's best.

Coburg Drive-In is the perfect way to enjoy outdoor cinema if you feel like tipping your hat to the past. While drive ins were once a very popular way to watch films, they're now dying out. You can still enjoy the old-school charm down at Coburg, where they can seat 900 cars watching all of the latest films. Children under 12 are free, and there is a 50's style diner that helps create the best experience with burgers, hotdogs, chips, and donuts, as well and popcorn and drinks.
The Rooftop Cinema is another popular spot. Here you'll sit high above the city while you enjoy a range of art house films and cult classics, with the occasional new release thrown in. Rooftop Cinema embraces the urban landscape, and is a great place for the movie lover who wants to appreciate their city. You'll also be able to grab drinks from the Rooftop Bar or some tasty food from the Beatbox Kitchen. You can enjoy some great films throughout the week, so make sure you check out their program.
If you're enjoying a film during summer then you may as well head to one of summer's best spots. The St Kilda Openair Cinema is set up right on the beach front, and is a fun place to catch some cult classics, oldies, and a few new releases. There is food to eat, and drinks to enjoy, and you'll be embracing summer as the waves crash beside you.
Is one of these Melbourne's best, or do you know another outdoor cinema that is even better? We want to hear all about them so that we can find Melbourne's best outdoor cinema.

I like the Botanic Gardens cinema. I like the idea of the Roof top one too. Perth have a fantastic outdoor deckchair cinema in summer near UWA, great for champagne and chicken under the big pine trees.
