You don't have to be a fanatical boat enthusiast to enjoy a visit to the Melbourne Yacht Club Hotel. Situated in Melbourne's developing, modern looking city fringe suburb of Docklands, the Melbourne Yacht Club overlooks Etihad Stadium from across the sparkling water. Being a boutique hotel, this restaurant is a first for the City of Melbourne and is a result of the $1.2 Billion investment in Docklands by Ing Reda Holding.

Normally a clichéd romantic scene would involve a riverside dinner as the sun is setting, which is basically what one can expect from the Melbourne Yacht Club Hotel. But you don't need romantic reasons to enjoy a meal from this suave restaurant with its Australian and Mediterranean cuisine.

Hold your horses; there's still a wait for this glamorous place to open. The Melbourne Yacht Club Hotel is not expected to have guests pass through its doors until late 2011.
