Are you passionate about writing, have you always dreamed of becoming a professional writer, but you're having some trouble finishing your project? If it has been sitting in your filing system for a year or two or longer, then I encourage you to go to the Melbourne Writers Festival - it might help you unleash more of the writer in you.

It's my dream to one day be a professional writer. I've wanted to be one since I was in my in my teens; for some time now, I have been writing six novels' - however writer's block can get to me at times. I can find it hard to keep writing my novels because of it. It tries to get the better of me and I am sure I am not alone with that.

If you are like me and suffer from writers block from time to time, a Writers Festival just might be the cure. It just might help to get your brain working again. It is not just for those who want to publish a novel, it is also for those who are into poetry, screen writing and other forms of writing. It would be a great event for those who are starting out in the journalist industry or for those who are interested in blogging.

There will be a number of events that will be held at Federation Square, as well as various venues right around Melbourne. It will run for ten days and there will be four hundred guests and around three hundred or so programs to attend. There will also be around roughly, three hundred writers from all around the world, who will take part in interviews, debates, readings and concerts. The Festival will run from the 23rd of August until the 2nd of September 2012.

Tickets for the program will go on sale starting Friday the 25th of May 2012.

For more information please click here or contact admin: [email protected]. Or call them on: 61 (0)3 9094 7859.

This is not a free event, so for pricing please make sure too contact admin or visit the website .

MWF also have other upcoming events. You can also listen to podcasts on their website and watch a few videos of last year's festival.

I spoke with administration myself and they instructed me that it is best to sign up to the newsletter so that you can get all the information on what is happening, as changes "might " take place before the day. You will also then be sent e-mails on which writers will be attending the festival; there will be many famous writers, not only from within Australia but from all around the world. As the event draws near, they will have more information available, so it is best to sign up to the newsletter.
