If you're looking to buy a boat, just dreaming about buying a boat or simply interested in having a good day out at Docklands then this is the show for you.
Boats are part and parcel of Docklands and it's the ideal spot for a boat show
The Summer Boat Show brings together a fantastic array of yachts, power-craft and Personal Water Craft along with a whole bunch of fun things to see and do both on and off the water.
The Summer Boat Show is the only 'on-water' boat show in Melbourne
You can try your hand at sea-kayaking or sailing, learn about the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, tour one of their vessels and even complete your boat handling License with them. It will take 3 hours and you'll need to provide photo ID.
Take the opportunity to step aboard and inspect an operational Coast Guard vessel
Fishermen can see all the underwater action as fish react to lures cast into the Yamaha Fish Tank, 15 metres long, 3 metres high and filled with 13000 Litres of water.
What you see in the tank might come in handy if you choose to participate in the Boating Industry Association of Victoria – Bream Classic. A catch and release competition all fish must be presented live at the weigh-in.
The weekend will also showcase the latest sensation in extreme sports, the FLYBOX-X. Like something out of a James Bond movie this water-jet powered vehicle propels the rider at speed through the air or underwater.
The Docklands venue is centrally located and readily accessible by train, tram and car with parking stations available at New Quay and Etihad Stadium.
The Summer Boat Show is a great excuse to check out everything else on offer at New Quay and the Docklands precinct
This is Melbourne's only on-water boat show providing a great opportunity to see all manner of water craft in their natural environment.
