The Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is being launched in style on Friday 1st September 2017 with a huge party spread between Little Bourke Street, the Melbourne Town Hall and other select locations around the Melbourne CBD.

It will be stilettos down on the outdoor runway situated on the Bourke Street Mall at 5pm, following the official Vogue American Express Fashion's Night Out grand opening, and for lovers of fashion, this is the place to be.



You won't recognise it. Little Bourke Street is being transformed into party central, with the main stage being a fashion runway. See specialty designers on display amid the pumping strains of DJ led music, along with plenty of free flowing champagne bubbles to round out the festive atmosphere.

However, the FREE Little Bourke Street fashion parade is only part of the sprawling gala being held as part of the party. Several shops and boutiques across the CBD will be offering shoppers a range of exclusive, one-night-only, in-store experiences and special offers.Enjoy FREE the CTF Curated (Council of Textile and Fashion event) in the Old Met Shop at the Melbourne Town Hall. Here you will meet some emerging local talent, preview their labels, along with their designs, and enjoy an opportunity to purchase something new and totally unique.[BREAK] Collins Place and Rokk Ebony & Rokk Man Barbers are hosting their own party on the same night with a pop-up champagne bar, canapés, live music and runway show starting at 6.30pm.Some of the new season looks will be displayed including labels Decjuba, MJ Bale, Seed Heritage, Feathers, Rhodes & Beckett and Mimco. Milliner Felicity Northeast will also be on hand as an invited guest to offer style tips in preparation for the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.[BREAK] In Swanston Hall, at the Melbourne Town Hall, you will find the Creative Collective Exhibition - for Curious Eyes Only. As part of this multi-faceted exhibition you will hear designers and artists speak about their concepts live on the stage, see garment displays in the Fashion Chamber and Walk-in Robe, along with a range of jewellery accessories in The Cabinet. All these displays will be changed regularly throughout the week. In all, The Melbourne Spring Fashion Festival is a week long celebration including over 150 events including runway shows by some of Australia's leading designers, exhibitions, industry workshops, films, parties and lots of free fashion experiences.Most of the main events throughout the week will be held in the Melbourne Town Hall and a full program, event descriptions and tickets sales are available on the MFW website. The Vogue American Express Fashion's Night Out opening party is being held from 5pm to 10pm in the Little Bourke Street mall. Other events can be found on the night at Emporium Melbourne, Melbourne Central, QV, the Bourke Street Mall, The Strand, Flinders Lane, Melbourne's GPO, Collins Street, St. Collins Lane and Collins Place.
