The Melbourne Sinfonia - A Beethoven Special at the MLC (Methodist Ladies' College) - James Tatoulis Auditorium at 207 Barkers Road, Kew, on Friday 9 September 2016 at 8pm, is set to be an evening of high quality music for a great cause. All profits will be donated to the Royal Children's Hospital's Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA), the 'Gatehouse' which provides crises services and support to young people who have been sexually abused.
The concert will feature the following, along with the acclaimed Streeton Trio:
Beethoven – Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus
Tickets can be purchased at the door at standard prices, or online at a discount. Children 16 years and under go free, but you still need to reserve a seat. Adults are $30 (online $26), and $15 (online $13) for students under 25 years.
The Streeton Trio were formed in 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland, from three young Australian musicians. Now based in Sydney, they've been described by Musica Viva as Australia's most internationally successful piano trio. With Emma Jardine on violin, Benjamin Kopp on piano and Umberto Clerici on cello, come along and listen to them at this one of many regular concerts held by the Melbourne Sinfonia.
