Peter Mac's main campus is located in East Melbourne on the corner of St Andrews Place and Lansdowne Street. The main entrance is located on St Andrews Place. Image courtesy of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Australia's only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer treatment, research and education, Peter Mac treat more cancer patients than any other hospital in Australia. Having grown from humble beginnings with just a handful of staff in a one-room clinic, to over 2,500 staff at 5 sites across Victoria. Their sense of purpose and commitment to making life better for people with cancer and all those who support them, continues today. Their remarkable growth has pushed capacity at the East Melbourne campus to the limit. To accommodate the changing and highly specialised needs of cancer patients and research, not to mention combating limited space, in 2016 they will move to a new and bigger purpose built centre.
